Overview
The world economy is still in a weak recovery. The Fed decided to start a rate hike cycle last year while Europe and Japan have maintained their loose monetary policies. The spillover effects of the normalizing monetary policy of the US created heightened capital flow and asset price volatility. With slowing economies of emerging markets including China, significant complexity has been added to the world economy.
