Rapid growth in China, the rise of Asia and the BRICs, globalization, economic convergence, and changes in the international financial system – in short assumptions about the underpinnings of the future of the world economy – are being called into question by the legacy of the 2008 great recession. This high level seminar, held during the fall IMF/World Bank meetings and organized in cooperation with the Central Bank of Peru, helped bring into focus the secular forces that will shape the global economy in the years to come.
